Meet Alicia, the tired cat behind Tired Cat Gems.

Welcome Tired Cats!

My name is Alicia, and I’m a 30-something from Ontario, Canada and the (sometimes shaky) hands behind Tired Cat Gems. I’m so glad you decided to stop by! I hope you like snacks because I always have them.

I started Tired Cat Gems after creating jewelry for some time for myself. It was an enjoyable hobby that let me use parts of my brain I didn’t use enough. It also allowed me to do something fun that didn’t cost me a ton of physical energy.

I’ve been living with chronic pain and chronic illness for a few years now. It started after a period of chronic, prolonged stress and mental health challenges. It has completely changed my abilities and my lifestyle. I still don’t have a lot of answers, but thankfully, I have a great support system.

I have a lot of goals for this brand. I hope to use what I’m able to build to spread awareness and give back. Whether you make a purchase or just share something with your network, I’m so very grateful for you!

When I’m not making jewelry, I’m thrifting, market hopping or exploring my community. I have a wonderful husband and two Tired Cats, Betsey and Hammy. I also love documentaries, true crime and horror movies. Popcorn is my favourite food, and I’ve been a vegetarian/pescetarian for 18 years.

My brand is a mixture of many eras of fashion and the whimsical side of life. Don’t be surprised to find a lot of cat jewelry too! I love all animals, so you’ll find many of them in my work.

You can enjoy one-of-a-kind pieces with a mix of small batch collections. I plan to launch collections every 2-3 months. You may see a spontaneous drop occasionally when I can’t hold it back anymore! Everything is handmade by me and always will be. I’m always sourcing new materials and do my best to support other small business when possible.

I hope you’ll find something you’ll love and treasure here. Thank you for supporting this Tired Cat!
